Argonauts Sink Bumblebees, 8-5

The Astoria Argonauts beat the Pasadena Bumblebees, 8-5, at Golden Fleece Park. The Argonauts got a fine performance from first baseman Wes Alexander, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ganya Lekov nailed down his 2nd save. At 66-60, Astoria is in second place in the Blake Camden League B.J. Birdie League.
In the bottom of the second inning, Astoria got a break when Alexander went to the plate. With two outs, runners on 1st and 2nd and the Argonauts leading 1-0, Alexander hit a 3-run home run.
"It was a solid team effort," said Alexander after the game.
