Sandy Springs Spartans starter Kyoji Kato kept the Long Island Ducks hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-1 win. The Spartans now have a record of 53-63 with the win over Long Island.

The Spartans picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"Kyoji is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Sandy Springs manager Duncan Kelly.
