Freeze Come Back Late to Top Caterpillars

Behind the bravura of first baseman Kunihiko Sakai, the Minneapolis Freeze topped the Peoria Caterpillars by the score of 6-3. Sakai went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Freeze. Tai Quian closed the door for Minneapolis, picking up his 5th save of the year. Minneapolis is 56-66 and Peoria, with the loss, 55-66.
Sakai had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 splitter from Oda Matsumura, he banged a bases-clearing double to right, giving the Freeze a 5-2 lead. It was the 6th double of the year for Sakai.
"I felt good up there," said Sakai. "I saw the ball well."
