Bombers Get One-Run Win at Omaha
|
In a close game at Anchorage Municipal Stadium, the Bronx Bombers edged the Omaha Raptors, 5-4. Bronx right fielder Andrew Switzer earned the nod as player of the game. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Juan Manuel closed the door for Bronx, picking up his 24th save of the year. Bronx is now 44-74.
Switzer contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run double. It was one of the critical at-bats that helped Bronx get the win.
"We're a pretty talented bunch when we're playing well," said Switzer. "I think we showed that here."
