The Philadelphia Freedom bested the Joplin Fireballs by a score of 8-3, with left fielder Julian Clifton getting the main credit. On the day, Clifton was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Freedom. Philadelphia is now 74-82.
Luis Paredes had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the top of the ninth for the Freedom. Coming up with the bases loaded and Philadelphia trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Dan Jones said.
