Victory Over Bloodhounds Takes Chippewa to 72-43
|
The River Chiefs grabbed a win, 4-1, at The Reservation, overcoming a fine effort from Boise pitcher Jesús Espinosa. Espinosa went 6.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Chippewa has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
In the bottom of the 7th, pinch hitter Jeff Bryan gave Chippewa the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The River Chiefs had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out single off Boise pitcher Edmundo Luas changed that -- and Chippewa went on to win.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Bryan.
