Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Saturday, May 8th, 2027 The league decided to come down hard on Xing-hua Chiu of the Lions and Suezo Koike of the Fighters for their roles in a brawl during a game between Saitama Seibu and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham at Field of the Chariots. Both combatants will receive 3-game suspensions because of their confrontation. So far this season Chiu has hit .245 with 8 home runs, 33 RBIs and and scored 40 times. Taking a look at this year, Suezo Koike has made 19 relief appearances, recorded 1 save and compiled a 1-0 won-lost mark and a 2.28 ERA. In pitching 23.2 innings, he has totaled 35 strikeouts and 9 walks. |
