Kataoka Belts Bunch of Base Hits Thursday, May 6th, 2027 Akihiro Kataoka was on fire today and sparked his club to a 18-8 victory over the Carp. The Tokyo Yakult second baseman was a tough out and went 5 for 6 against Hiroshima Toyo in a fine hitting display. "I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody... and some days they fall in." Akihiro Kataoka hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Noburo Kichikawa in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. This season Kataoka is hitting .330 with 7 home runs. |
