Yamasaki Bashes 5 Base Hits
Monday, March 22nd, 2027
On top of the Tohoku Rakuten hit parade today was Morihiro Yamasaki. He went to the plate 5 times and tagged 5 hits, but it was Hokkaido Nippon-Ham that marched off with the 10-9 win. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-for-5 performance, however the Fighters marked it up in the victory column. The sweet swinging catcher told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Golden Eagles griped to the press, "As a team, we just didn't do it with the bats and the pitching today. That's why we lost." Morihiro Yamasaki doubled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
To date this year Yamasaki is batting .333 with 5 home runs.
