Kakuta Tags Hawks for 5 Hits Saturday, March 13th, 2027 On top of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham hit parade today was Shinji Kakuta. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Fighters to a 13-10 victory over the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. The sweet swinging third baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Hawks wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Shinji Kakuta hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Shoji Watanabe in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
