Haines Sizzles in No-Hitter Thursday, March 18th, 2027 Excitement reigned at the ballyard today as Trois-Rivieres hurler John Haines tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter. After defeating the Montreal Royales at Blue Wings Ballpark 10-0 he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments. "I'm just glad to be here. I want to help the club any way I can. Today I just went right at the Montreal as hard as I could, as long as I could." Haines chalked up 14 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk in his superb performance. The Trois-Rivieres manager had his own analysis of the ballgame: "I don't think they could have hit him with a howitzer today." |
