RDL Silver Slugger Award Goes to Thompson Thursday, June 10th, 2027 When you have the type of year Dan Thompson did, it's no surprise when you get named the recipient of the Silver Slugger Award. The 19-year-old captured the award for the Rod Dedeaux League today, after a year in which the Fresno State Bulldogs pitcher excelled. In 12 starts he piled up 70.1 innings, had 78 strikeouts with 29 walks and a 1.15 ERA. Thompson held opposing hitters to a .163 batting average and compiled a 2.7 WAR along the way. P.J. Hobbs of the Washington State Cougars finished second in voting, while Dominic Smith of the Texas A&M Aggies finished third. |
