Astbury Collects BOL Pitching Award Thursday, July 1st, 2027 A money pitcher -- the guy to bet on, when the chips are down. That's a very good description of a bullpen specialist. And one of the best in the league is Ross Astbury of the New Orleans Jedi Knights. He was outstanding in June and was named the Pitcher of the Month in the Buck O'Neil League. In June, New Orleans's star reliever held the opposition to a .206 average and put up 1 save and 29 strikeouts in 19.2 innings with a 3-0 mark and a 0.92 ERA. For the season Astbury has made 27 relief appearances, recorded 2 saves and compiled a 6-0 won-lost mark and a 1.69 ERA. In pitching 42.2 innings, he has totaled 50 strikeouts and 22 walks. |
