River Chiefs Pitching Ravaged by Takuda Saturday, May 15th, 2027 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Toshiharu Takuda -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at The Reservation and paced the Warriors to a 9-5 win over the Chippewa River Chiefs. After his dynamite batting performance the Winfield third baseman told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Toshiharu Takuda singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. For the year Takuda is batting .375 with 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 15 runs scored. |
