Player of the Week: Matsumoto of the Cyclones Monday, May 3rd, 2027 Akihiro Matsumoto is respected by most Coney Island Cyclones fans for his no-frills style of play. The 21-year-old first baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Buck O'Neil League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .476 average (10-for-21) with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored. So far this year in 23 games Matsumoto is hitting .337 with 1 home run, 16 RBIs and 13 runs scored. |
