Big Day for Bowden: Swats 5 Hits Tuesday, September 14th, 2027 It seemed that Long Island second baseman Mark Bowden could do no wrong as the Ducks kayoed the Lights 18-11 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Phoenix pitchers couldn't get him out as Bowden seemed to know which pitches they were throwing. "I think the Ducks were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Phoenix fan. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Bowden in the postgame press interview. Mark Bowden hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This season Bowden is batting .350 with no home runs. He has scored 22 runs and driven in 23. |
