Chikafuji Goes 5-for-5 Tuesday, August 10th, 2027 No matter what the Ottawa Outlaws threw at him today, Masahiro Chikafuji hit it. He easily handled Outlaws pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Red Bulls to a 14-3 triumph at Red Bull Stadium. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Ottawa skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." Masahiro Chikafuji hit a GRAND SLAM off Kyung-bok Kim in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th and singled in the 7th. This season Chikafuji has delivered 62 hits in 181 at-bats for a .343 average with 9 home runs. He is getting on base at a .400 clip and his totals also include 42 RBIs and 22 runs scored. This year Chikafuji has played in 78 games. |
