Haley Blasts 3 into Bleachers Monday, September 20th, 2027 John Haley, center fielder for the Joplin Fireballs, had a whale of a game, rocketing three balls out of Cobb Field against the Billings Mustangs today in their 10-6 victory. After the game he said, "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them. The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves... all three were mistakes." For the game Haley was 3-for-3 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Haley added, "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives. Today I found the home run stroke." John Haley hit a solo-shot off José Valentín in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off José Valentín in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Denis Roussel in the 7th. This year Haley is hitting at a .197 pace with 16 home runs and 54 RBIs. He has played in 127 games and scored 83 times. |
