23-Game Streak Ends, Hounsell Hitless
Sunday, August 15th, 2027
Aeropostales first baseman Adam Hounsell went 0-for-3 today in Indian Wells's 12-6 triumph over the Champaign Chiefs, snapping his 23-game hitting streak.
Hounsell spoke to BNN after the game and said, "I knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later. I just would have preferred later."
When he made an out in his last chance at bat, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout.
The Chiefs manager shrugged off the streak. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," he said. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
Thus far this season Hounsell has hit .345 with 32 home runs, 115 RBIs and scored 104 times.
