Cats Center Fielder Martínez Injured Thursday, August 12th, 2027 The Fort Worth Cats learned that Raúl Martínez is likely to be out for 5 months after he injured himself running the bases in today's game against the Coronado Phantoms. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a ruptured achilles tendon. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Fort Worth manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Raúl is back in action." Martínez is hitting .290 for the season with 9 home runs, 60 RBIs and 67 runs scored. He has 100 hits in 345 at-bats and played in 97 games. |
