Au and bin Atif Fight, Suspended 2 Games
Thursday, September 23rd, 2027
One player challenged the other with some angry words at the Bandits-Hops game at Labatt Bleue Park yesterday. There was some pushing and shoving -- then the dugouts emptied. There was a lot of scuffling, but no punches thrown. When order was finally restored and the dust settled, the umpires ejected Montreal's Li-chi Au and San Diego's Salah bin Atif.
Now both antagonists will get some time off, courtesy of the league commissioner. They were suspended 2 games for inappropriate and aggressive behavior.
In 148 games this season Au has compiled a .350 batting average with 212 hits and 26 home runs. He has also scored 117 times and knocked in 101 runs.
In 7 starts this season bin Atif has compiled a 0-6 record and a 3.86 ERA.
