RCL's Top Player, García of New York Monday, August 2nd, 2027 A battle-tested Octávio García declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 33-year-old New York first baseman collected the Roberto Clemente League Player of the Week Award. He wrapped up the week with a .538 average, 14 hits in 26 at-bats, 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 9 runs scored. This year García has collected a .320 batting average to date with 134 hits in 419 at-bats, 64 RBIs, 15 home runs and scored 72 times. He has played in 106 games. |
