Republic, Texans Close Deal Monday, July 19th, 2027 It's all done except the paperwork. The So Cal Republic and the Dallas Texans have agreed to a trade that will send 35-year-old C Nick Robertson, 32-year-old RHP Carlos Núñes and $390,000 in cash to Dallas, while 36-year-old C Héctor Chávez, 33-year-old minor league SS Michel Gérard, 27-year-old minor league SS José Trujilio, 25-year-old minor league LF Steve Bailey and 23-year-old minor league SS Dan Rollins will be shipped to So Cal. A top front office executive with the Republic described the trade talks as "quick and easy." "We're glad to get this deal done. We think it's something that helps our ball club and it didn't take too long at all to sort this one out," he said. This season Robertson is batting .319 with 1 home run. He has scored 14 runs and driven in 14. So far this year Chávez has hit .246 with 7 home runs, 43 RBIs and 36 runs scored. |
