García Rips Mile High for 5 Hits Wednesday, June 9th, 2027 Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Golden Gate Park when Alfredo García of San Francisco scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Mile High Mustangs. He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Earthquakes get by the Mustangs 9-5. In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the right fielder of the Earthquakes said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-for-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one." Alfredo García singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 8th. García is presently hitting at a .318 pace with 2 home runs and 18 RBIs. He has played in 47 games and scored 31 times. |
