After the game, the team trainer reported Fitzgerald might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 24-year-old third baseman out for the rest of the season with a broken bone in the elbow. They indicated it would take Fitzgerald at least 10 months to heal. |
