#1 CL Hurler Named Sunday, September 21st, 2025 20-year-old Kung-zheng Zhu of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows put together a good year in 2025 for such a young player. Zhu was named today as the winner of the Central League Cy Young Award. Zhu crafted an impressive 11-2 record and a 1.81 ERA. In 89.1 innings he allowed 58 hits, struck out 125, and walked 24. Nobukazu Nakamura of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp finished second in voting, while Hirotada Nan of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp finished third. |
