Cy Young Award Goes to Yoshimura Sunday, September 21st, 2025 The Pacific League has chosen Sawao Yoshimura its premier pitcher for 2025. The Tohoku Rakuten reliever has been honored with the Cy Young Award for his outstanding work last season. The 19-year-old relief ace stood out with no saves in no save opportunities. He chalked up a 8-1 record with 119 strikeouts in 101.2 innings and a 2.74 ERA. Hyeon-san Yi of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles finished second in voting, while Saiyid Mashwanis of the Saitama Seibu Lions finished third. |
