Giants Hayakawa Smacks 5 Hits Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025 It was a sensational day at the plate for Motoki Hayakawa as he led the charge to a 16-11 win over the Dragons. The Yomiuri third baseman was pure misery for the Chunichi pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Dragons told BNN reporters after the game, "Hayakawa put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Motoki Hayakawa hit a two-run home run off Kinnosuke Sasaki in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in a run in the 9th. Thus far this season in 22 games Hayakawa is batting .214 with 2 home runs, 19 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 18 hits in 84 at-bats. |
