Swallows Win Tight Central Division Race Thursday, May 29th, 2025 The champagne was flowing in the Tokyo Yakult Swallows clubhouse today, as men quickly transformed into boys with the realization that the club had clinched the Central Division. "We can relax a bit, for now anyway," said manager Tony Chávez. "I'm proud of every guy in the room for what we've done this season." The club has a 29-18 record as they head towards the playoffs in search of their 1st Japan Series Championship championship. Starting Pitcher Kung-zheng Zhu said the team is happy to clinch what is the club's 3rd division title, but "wouldn't be happy until we're lifting that trophy." |
