Rossi Belts Bunch of Base Hits Saturday, May 10th, 2025 Yan Rossi told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Rossi of the Saitama Seibu Lions did against the ORIX Buffaloes. He went to the plate 8 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Buffaloes, who suffered a 6-4 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Yan Rossi grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Yoshifumi Umaba in the 7th, flied out in the 8th, singled in the 11th, singled in the 13th, walked in the 15th and hit a two-run single in the 16th. This season Rossi has banged out 64 hits in 176 at-bats for a .364 average with 7 home runs. He is getting on base at a .475 pace and his totals also include 25 RBIs and 36 runs scored. |
