Start after start in the month, Sawao Yoshimura took the hill, took charge and usually got the win. He dominated with a 3-0 mark and 1.65 ERA in 5 starts. The gifted Golden Eagles star pitched 27.1 innings, fanned 33 and held opposing teams to a .186 average. For his outstanding mound performance Yoshimura was named the PL Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers. |
