He suffered a torn labrum while throwing a pitch in the game today against the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the starting pitcher. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." In 8 starts this year Duarte has posted 3 wins while suffering 1 loss. He has pitched 39 innings, allowed 37 hits, struck out 37 and has a 3.46 ERA. |
