Kirschofer and Ghazali Suspended for Free-for-All
Wednesday, April 9th, 2025
When fights happen, suspensions are not far behind. That axiom was held to be true today when Yokohama's Israhel Kirschofer and Tokyo Yakult's Akbar Ghazali were given a temporary vacation from the game, courtesy of the league commissioner's office.
They both were suspended for 4 games for their actions in a recent ruckus between the two teams. Both benches cleared when Kirschofer charged Ghazali.
Both players have accepted their fate and will begin serving their suspensions immediately. Neither would talk to reporters about the confrontation.
Kirschofer has collected 27 hits for the Bay Stars this year, 3 of them home runs. He has also netted 14 RBIs and scored 19 runs while batting .293.
For the year Ghazali has saved 0 games while posting an ERA of 9.00 and 10 strikeouts in 11 innings. His totals also include a 0-1 record in 5 relief appearances.
