Red-Hot Kobayashi Scorches Tigers Sunday, April 6th, 2025 Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Ballpark of Otofuke College when Naosuke Kobayashi of ORIX scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Hanshin Tigers. He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Buffaloes get by the Tigers 9-6. In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the third baseman of the Buffaloes said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-for-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one." Naosuke Kobayashi singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Muneyaki Ohayashi in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. So far this season Kobayashi has put up a .362 batting average with 34 hits, 9 home runs and 26 RBIs. |
