Masayoshi Sai Named Premier CL Player Friday, September 20th, 2024 The future looks extremely bright for Masayoshi Sai. At the age of 20, many players are still trying to find their way in NIPPON BASEBALL LEAGUE. Sai has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Central League Silver Slugger Award. "I didn't expect to hit .391 this year, that's for sure," the right fielder said. The Hanshin Tigers star also put up a .470 on-base percentage this year, with 79 hits, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 25 home runs, 64 RBIs and 52 runs scored. Dong-kwan Kim of the Hanshin Tigers finished second in voting, while Hongwu Huang of the Yokohama Bay Stars finished third. |
