Tigers Star Receives Cy Young Award Thursday, September 19th, 2024 19-year-old Dong-kwan Kim of the Hanshin Tigers put together a good year in 2024 for such a young player. Kim was named today as the winner of the Central League Cy Young Award. Kim crafted an impressive 8-2 record and a 1.94 ERA. In 83.1 innings he allowed 55 hits, struck out 97, and walked 17. Naonobu Miyata of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows finished second in voting, while Su-gyung Park of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp finished third. |
