20 Games in a Row for Rossi Friday, July 19th, 2024 Saitama Seibu's 18-year-old shortstop Yan Rossi has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 20 games now. Today Rossi extended the streak by going 1-for-4 against Buffaloes pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Rossi always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Lions 9-3 triumph over ORIX at Field of the Chariots he downplayed his part in the victory. Yan Rossi singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. In his season totals Rossi has 2 home runs and a .373 batting average. |
