Hits Galore: Yokoyama Drills 5 Hits
Thursday, May 23rd, 2024
No matter what the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters threw at him today, Yaichiro Yokoyama hit it. He easily handled Fighters pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Hawks to a 11-9 triumph at Ballpark of Aomori College. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." Yaichiro Yokoyama singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Toshiki Konishi in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
Presently Yokoyama is batting .282 with 18 home runs and 40 RBIs. He has played in 52 games and scored 43 times.
