Shimada Blisters Chunichi Thursday, March 28th, 2024 Next time the Dragons might think twice about pitching to Rikiya Shimada. Today at Ballpark of Nakashibetsu College the Yokohama left fielder really burned Chunichi pitching, going 5-for-6 in the Bay Stars 9-1 triumph. "When he's seeing the ball well," his skipper told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded." Rikiya Shimada singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Chun-mei Tze in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Isei Hara in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. To date this year Shimada is batting .315 with 4 home runs. |
