Chiba Lotte Starter August's Best Pitcher Friday, September 1st, 2023 There's something about a young rookie winning the Pacific League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Sung-hwan Park, a 18-year-old starter for the Chiba Lotte Marines. In August, he topped off the month with a 2-0 mark and 2.33 ERA in 3 starts, tossed 19.1 innings, fanned 17 and held opposing teams to a .253 average. Thus far this season, Park has tossed 51 innings in 9 starts, fanned 47 batters, walked 19 and put up a 3.88 ERA with 3 wins and 2 losses. |
