PL Star of the Week Picked Monday, July 31st, 2023 It was some kind of week for Hideki Kawano of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. First he hits the heck out of the ball, ripping it at a .500 clip and the next thing you know, he is voted the Player of the Week in the Pacific League. Last week Kawano went 9-18, chalked up 4 home runs and 5 RBIs and scored 5 runs. Not a bad week's work at all. Thus far this season Kawano is hitting .317 with 8 home runs, 22 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 40 hits in 126 at-bats and has played in 29 games. |
