Araki Rips Tohoku Rakuten for 5 Hits Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 Hokkaido Nippon-Ham catcher Tetsuzan Araki put on quite a show at Sailboats Ballpark with a big 5-hit day in the 13-1 victory over the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. In the postgame interview, he said with a smile, "Not a bad day at the plate, 5 for 5.. Wish I could do this more often. It would do wonders for my batting average ... and my salary, too." Tetsuzan Araki hit a two-run home run off Toshikazu Yokoyama in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Araki is batting .306 with 22 home runs and 70 RBIs this season. |
