Toiguchi 5-5 Against Chunichi Wednesday, June 21st, 2023 "It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Yomiuri second baseman Motonobu Toiguchi said to BNN reporters after his fantastic 5-5 day against the Chunichi Dragons at Ballpark of Nakashibetsu College. "I got some good counts and used the whole field." The Giants had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 21-2. Motonobu Toiguchi walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Kenko Ikeuchi in the 9th. This season Toiguchi is batting .417 with 2 home runs. He has scored 5 runs and driven in 9. |
