First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .350 clip, then the Fukuoka SoftBank first baseman finds outs he has been chosen the league's best performer and gets the PL Player of the Week Award. He told BNN reporters in the postgame, "It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too." For the week Mengal batted .350 (7-20) with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs. In his 2023 season totals, Mengal has 17 home runs, .292 BA, .380 OBP, 37 RBIs and 38 runs scored. |
