Sato Slams 5 Hits for Yomiuri Friday, April 14th, 2023 "Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Yomiuri's Yasuhiko Sato told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well." It definitely turned out well for Sato today as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats against Chunichi. It turned out well for his team, too, as the Giants knocked off the Dragons 17-8 at Ballpark of Nakashibetsu College. Yasuhiko Sato singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Eiji Maruyama in the 5th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. This season Sato is batting .290 with 27 hits, 3 home runs, 15 RBIs, .359 OBP and has scored 16 runs. |
