August's PL Top Pitcher is Buffaloes Kodo Thursday, September 1st, 2022 There's something about a young rookie winning the Pacific League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Hidehira Kodo, a 18-year-old starter for the ORIX Buffaloes. In August, he topped off the month with a 3-0 mark and 4.07 ERA in 4 starts, tossed 24.1 innings, fanned 26 and held opposing teams to a .239 average. This year Kodo has recorded a 7-1 mark. In 11 starts he has fanned 85 batters in 67.1 innings with a 3.34 ERA. |
