Xiao's Hit Streak Over Wednesday, May 5th, 2021 After 26 games, Zhang Xiao had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by Chunichi at Ballpark of Yamagata College. The Giants second baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats and his brief fling with fame has come to a halt. But Xiao seemed to care less -- it didn't matter as Yomiuri took a 5-3 victory from the Dragons. Xiao didn't dwell on the streak saying, "It was good while it lasted. If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory." Thus far this year Xiao is batting .356 with 1 home run, 19 RBIs and 19 runs scored. |
