Covey Raps Trois-Rivieres for 5 Hits Saturday, April 27th, 2024 No matter what the Trois-Rivieres Saints threw at him today, George Covey hit it. He easily handled Saints pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Royales to a 12-6 triumph at Blue Wings Ballpark. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Trois-Rivieres skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." George Covey singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Albert Guillard in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This year Covey is batting .336 with 24 home runs. |
