Balaski Raps Saskatoon for 5 Hits
Friday, March 22nd, 2024
After the Trois-Rivieres 6-5 loss to Saskatoon and his 5-hit day right fielder Al Balaski told reporters, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school, or college ball. Two hits in a game is very good, three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special. It will get you in the record books, but you won't necessarily win the ballgame." The 19-year-old player got into the record book today with a spectacular 5 for 9 game against the Saskatoon Legends. The skipper of the Saints spoke glowingly of Balaski, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Al did that to perfection today. I just wish some more of our players swung the bat as good as him. We might have won the game." Al Balaski struck out in the 2nd,
grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th, struck out in the 13th, hit an RBI single in the 14th, singled in the 16th and singled in the 19th.

So far this season Balaski has 2 home runs and a .325 batting average.
