Lemercier 5-for-5 for Heat Monday, March 4th, 2024 It seemed that Kelowna third baseman Jean Lemercier could do no wrong as the Heat kayoed the Capitals 12-5 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Victoria pitchers couldn't get him out as Lemercier seemed to know which pitches they were throwing. "I think the Heat were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Victoria fan. "I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Lemercier in the postgame press interview. Jean Lemercier singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Johnny Vallee in the 7th. |
